[ICIE Chronicles] Film adaptation as a device for the understanding of literary reading and the practice of the oral language

This article aims to reflect on and discuss film adaptation, a paratextual element and a significant device for literary reading, in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.

In the context of teaching a language, it is essential to identify the difference between cinematographic and literary art, since both manifest themselves as two autonomous forms of language expression. However, this pairing could prove to be an indispensable step in language learning by facilitating a singular discovery of literary reading as an interesting part of the language class and would, in turn, allow access to culture.
